Every summer, Plastic Free July gives us a moment to pause and reflect on why Pirani exists in the first place.
This Plastic Free July, weβre offering 20% off from July 1β10 with code PFJ20.
This Sale is our small nudge to make the switch, replace disposables, and keep choosing to reuse long after July is over.
We started Pirani because we wanted to make avoiding single-use items more convenient and fun. But the truth is, reducing waste does not stop with our products. It shows up in the quieter, less glamorous parts of the business too: the way we pack orders, receive inventory, handle damaged products, show up at events, and make decisions behind the scenes.
At our warehouse, we try to be intentional about what comes in, what goes out, and what happens next. We ship using recyclable, plastic-free packaging materials and aim to right-size our shipments whenever possible to avoid unnecessary waste. We collect the pallet wrap from inbound shipments and work with a recycling service to help keep it out of the landfill. Our cardboard boxes are sent to a baler and recycled, and we reuse materials around the warehouse whenever we can before sending anything off to be recycled. We also recycle any styrofoam that makes its way into packaging materials, and we scrap all metal parts and waste for recycling.
We continue to look for ways to reduce waste beyond our own four walls. That includes asking better questions of our suppliers, looking for ways to limit unnecessary inbound plastic, and being thoughtful about the materials we bring to events and festivals. From reusable bins and booth materials to the way we pack, transport, and repurpose event supplies, we are always looking for small ways to make our footprint a little lighter.
If a tumbler is damaged beyond use, we bring it to a metal recycling facility instead of throwing it away. Products with only cosmetic damage are sold at a discount through our popular Scratch & Dent sales, giving them a second chance instead of going to waste.Β And when your Pirani has lived a long, adventure-filled life? We hope youβll keep it going. Use it as a pencil holder, tool holder, planter, or catch-all before ever thinking about the landfill. Reuse is always the goal.Β
We also build environmental action into our team culture. As part of our employee handbook, our team participates in at least one cleanup or environmental activity with us each year. And through our 1% for the Planet membership, we donate 1% of ALL sales to conservation partners doing the work to protect the places we love.
We are not perfect, and we never want to pretend that running a product-based business comes without impact. But we do believe better choices add up, especially when they become part of the way a business operates every day.
Thanks for being part of this with us.
